​Welcome to Rise Wild, where i merge a deep love of nature and its beautiful gifts with a passion for creativity and sustainability.

 

After 13 years working within the helping profession, I was left feeling exhausted and helpless in a seemingly broken world. However, I found renewal through exploring local woods and coastlines, where i learnt to embrace the wonders of wild plants as food, medicine and colour. This journey sparked my joy for natural pigments and inspired me to combine some of the abundant materials offered by nature with my creativity, producing some really beautiful results that lifted my spirits and sparked something wonderful inside.

I am passionate about using sustainably sourced natural fabrics with low impact dyes, that are gentle on our skin and the environment. The textile industry has become saturated with fast fashion fixes that are made from harmful fabrics and dyes, which have a detrimental impact on our health and wellbeing, as well as Mother Earth. I want to be part of the solution, not the problem, which is why I make individual and small batches of items, often using repurposed materials (fabrics, buttons and zips), thereby reducing the amount of products ending up in landfill. For loungewear I only use 100% natural fibers (cotton, hemp, bamboo) that are OEKO TEX and GOTs certified, meaning that not only are they gentler on the environment during production, but when they have finally reached the end of their life (hopefully many many years from now), they will have less of an impact environmentally too. All dyes are plant based, some from a local organic dye plant farm, others foraged locally or grown at home.
